Lincoln contractor dies from injuries sustained in ceiling collapse

A Lincoln contractor critically injured after a partial ceiling collapse at a Lincoln animal clinic has died from his injuries, police confirmed Monday morning.

Ryan Kizzier, 40, had been in critical but stable condition last week. He died Sunday, police said.

Authorities said he was working in the ceiling of the Nebraska Animal Medical and Emergency Center near Old Cheney and 56th St. Monday morning when part of the ceiling gave way, pinning him. Rescue crews used airbags to create a pocket to lift the rubble and to remove the victim.

Friends set up a GoFundMe page to help Kizzier and his family with expenses. You can find the GoFundMe page by clicking here: GoFundMe
