Nebraska softball’s Brooke Andrews named Big Ten Player of the Week
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska softball’s Brooke Andrews is the Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Andrews was recognized for her performance in the Huskers series sweep at Indiana over the weekend.
The Gretna native hit .600 through three games with six hits including two doubles and a home run.
Andrews tallied six RBIs, a 1.100 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage.
The junior started all three games in center field, finishing the weekend with a perfect fielding percentage.
Andrews produced three multi-games over the weekend. In game two, she tallied three RBIs, securing a come-from-behind victory.
Andrews finished the weekend with a home run in game three against the Hoosiers, helping the Huskers with the series sweep.
This is Andrews’ first Big Ten Player-of-the-Week award of her career and marks Nebraska’s first since her sister, Billie Andrews earned the accolade last year.
