WATCH: Dust devil spins up debris during Nebraska fire that got out of control
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Buffalo County fire department shared video of a dust devil spinning up debris during an out-of-control fire this week.
You can see it briefly moving across a burnt and smoking field.
The Pleasanton Fire Department said this happened Monday afternoon.
Its crew was helping out a neighboring district during a prescribed burn that got out of hand.
In photos also shared by Pleasanton’s crew, you can see a tractor digging a fire line while heavy smoke fills the sky.
This occurred on the same day that Gov. Jim Pillen extended a statewide burn ban.
His office sent a statement saying extremely dry and windy conditions pose major fire risks.
The ban is currently in effect through midnight April 23.
