LPS art gallery displays students’ creativity
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Works of art from all over the Lincoln Public Schools made their way to the LPS district office this weekend, where they were prominently displayed in gallery-style fashion.
Proud parents came to the gallery to view artwork of all kinds, from paint to mixed media to various types of drawings.
Channel 8 spoke with a few students who said art class allows them to have fun and explore. Many of the students cited their teacher as the inspiration for their creativity.
“I think that when we do shows like this and we support young people, it makes their work at school feel more meaningful, make it more real for them.” art teacher Matt Auch Moedy said. “And oftentimes, kids who might excel at the arts may not excel somewhere else, so it’s always nice to be promoting our kids and whatever their talents are.”
After the LPS art show wraps up, student works will be displayed throughout local businesses all summer long.
