MAD DADS Needs Your Help

A Lincoln charity that helps kids needs some help of its own.  The organization MAD DADS will lose it's building at the end of the month. So it's looking for a new place to call home.

MAD DADS is charitable organization that  refurbishes used bicycles to give to children and special needs riders.  Now the organization needs a new place to keep its mission going.

Every day MAD DADS volunteers take apart and fix up old bikes to make a child's day.  During the last 17 years in Lincoln the organization has donated hundreds of bicycles to Lincoln Public Schools, Special Olympians, and kids who would never know joy of their very own pair of wheels without MAD DADS.

The organization has been providing those priceless smiles in a free space for more than two years.

TMCO just down the street owns the building and decided to donate it for the time they had it.

But now that time is up.

John Albers with TMCO says the company doesn't want to kick the charity out, but the contract is coming through for buildings on the block.

They'll need to knock those down and move people into the building where MAD DADS stores bikes.

Albers says having MAD DADS in the space has been a rewarding ride and hopes someone else picks up where they're leaving off.
