Motorcyclist died after crashing into tree in Omaha, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A motorcyclist died Tuesday after crashing into a tree in Omaha, police say.

Around 2 p.m., a motorcycle – driven by 33-year-old Hilario Chavez – left the road and crashed into a tree near Regency Parkway Drive and Essex Court.

Medics pronounced Chavez dead at the scene, according to police.

The passenger, a 40-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital to be treated for a fractured arm.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
