Man stole delivery driver’s running vehicle at Lincoln Burger King, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Tuesday after he swiped a delivery driver’s car at a Burger King in Lincoln, police say.
Around 8:50 a.m., a woman left her car running as she went into Burger King at 17th and South Streets to pick up a DoorDash order.
While she was inside, a man – later identified as 29-year-old Thomas Mallory – got in and drove off.
But the woman had a tracking service for her car, which led officers to an alley near 11th and C Streets.
When officers arrived, they say they found Mallory taking off the vehicle’s license plates. He ran away, police said, but officers caught up and took him into custody.
Mallory was arrested on suspicion of felony theft by receiving. He was also cited on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and possession of marijuana.
