Lincoln-based Kabredlo’s bought by Casey’s

Kabredlo's, a chain of convenience stores based in Lincoln, will soon become Casey's General stores.

The Iowa-based Casey's purchased 44 Kabredlo stores for $45.8 million.  There are 22 Kabredlo's stores in Nebraska, 21 in Kansas and one in Oklahoma. Co-owner Mike Olderbak – which is Kabredlo spelled backward – says the time was ripe to leave the business.

Casey's, which is publicly traded, says in a news release that the purchase requires regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of the year. As of Sept. 30, Casey's said it had 104 stores in Nebraska among its more than 1,500 stores.
