SUV flipped onto roof after hit-and-run in downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A driver was arrested Thursday after a hit-and-run crash near the State Capitol.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of 17th and K Streets.

Lincoln Police said a vehicle was heading east when it went through a red light and struck a northbound SUV.

The SUV landed on its roof as the driver of the other vehicle fled.  The driver, who has not yet been identified, was eventually taken into custody.

The driver of the SUV had minor injuries.  Police suspect alcohol is a factor in the crash.
