Hot and dry on Thursday; Storms to the west
High temperatures have increased each day this week, and we will continue that trend on Thursday. We are forecasting another sun-filled day with highs in the low to mid-90s in and around Lincoln.
While Lincoln remains mostly clear, things turn a bit more unsettled for other parts of the state on Thursday night. We expect showers and storms to develop and western Nebraska during the afternoon and evening.
Some of these storms may inch closer to the Tri-Cities area on Thursday evening. These will probably remain west of Lincoln for almost all of Thursday.
However, the energy that is producing these storms will push east by Friday. For that reason, we are introducing a scattered storm chance closer to Lincoln on Friday.
We’ll have a few more disturbances to get through over the weekend. We’re going to keep a scattered storm chance on Saturday as well. In fact, Saturday might be Lincoln’s best storm chance over the next few days.
The latest data suggest that things quiet down on Father’s Day. While can’t completely rule out a lingering shower on Sunday morning, you should be able to find some dry time outside.
