Fireworks banned at all but one Nebraska state park this Fourth of July
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — All but one Nebraska state park has banned fireworks for this upcoming Fourth of July celebration.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission announced that fireworks will only be permitted at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area.
Fireworks can be lit from 8 a.m. to midnight at a designated site in the park. Officials ask anyone setting off a firework to be careful.

The ban extends to parks at Branched Oak, Wagon Train, Memphis and Pawnee Lakes, even though these parks have permitted fireworks in the past.
The commission opted to ban fireworks in light of exceptional drought conditions in some parts of Nebraska.
