UPDATE: One witness tells her story of being with Trail, Boswell while they were on the run

UPDATE:

Tuesday in the Saline County courtroom, three women who said they were part of Aubrey Trail’s inner circle testified.

Media were not allowed to record them.

A woman with the initials K. B. said she connected with Bailey Boswell through Tinder in October 2017.

K. B. said she started hanging out with Boswell and Trail in early November.

She said she went to a casino with them just one day after prosecution said Trail and Boswell disposed of Sydney Loofe’s remains.  K. B. said Trail told her they were going to Grand Island to transport cocaine and that she could make some money.

She said they later told her the plan didn’t pan out and that they would make it up to her by finding someone in Kearney she could torture and kill.  K. B. said she agreed to it because she feared Trail and Boswell would kill her loved ones if she didn’t.

She said while in Kearney, she got a voicemail from Lincoln police.  She said she played it for Trail and Boswell, who then said they were fleeing the state.

She said when they got to Iowa, Trail and Boswell dropped her off at a casino and told her not to turn on her phone until she was home.

She said she doesn’t know where the two went after that.

The defense peppered K. B. with questions regarding whether or not it was possible if she helped dispose of Sydney Loofe’s remains.  The woman’s answer was she doesn’t know.

A woman has testified that a man being prosecuted for killing and dismembering a 24-year-old Lincoln woman invited her to join his “cult” of a dozen women but said she had to kill someone first.

The woman, who we’re referring to as A.H., told a courtroom in Wilber on Monday that Aubrey Trail bragged to her about killing several people and told her how she could gain powers as one of his “witches” if she tortured her victim before death.

Trail wasn’t in the courtroom Tuesday and hasn’t been since he slashed at his neck June 24. He and his girlfriend, Bailey Boswell, are charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Sydney Loofe.

A.H. said she first connected with Boswell on the dating app Tinder because Boswell said her “sugar daddy” would be able to take care of her. She talked about wanting to become one of Trail’s “witches,” and received punishments – including whipping – for not obeying certain rules.

A.H. testified that she and Boswell eventually began planning to kill Trail because Trail’s ‘other girls’ wanted to see him dead, but the plot turned out to be a test to see if A.H. would be loyal to Boswell.

A.H. described Trail as “convincing” and even “hypnotic,” but she says she left the group after a few months.
