Waverly cleans up after storm scatters tree limbs
WAVERLY, Neb. (KLKN) – After storms rolled through on Tuesday, many residents in Waverly had downed tree limbs and branches.
They have until Friday afternoon to put them on the side of the road to be picked up by city crews.
[On the] Fourth of July, we had the windstorm and rainstorm that went through, took down a bunch of trees, bunch of limbs and stuff,” Mayor Bill Gerdes said. “And so we’re having Waverly residents put them in a parking strip between the street and sidewalk, and we’re going around with a crew and picking them up and taking them out to the city tree dump.”
The tree dump site, which is usually closed on the weekends, will be open this weekend for residents to dump any branches that were not picked up.
