Bold burglar steals box of candy and coins from elderly Nebraskans’ change jar

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Elderly Nebraskans are missing a box of candy and some coins after a burglar snuck into their home on Thursday.
This happened on Riverview Drive, just north of Rosemont Avenue, around 8:30 p.m.
The Grand Island Police Department says an 89-year-old man and 84-year-old woman noticed their back door was open when they returned home.
They then realized a box of candy worth $2.50 was gone, along with $25 worth of coins from their change jar.
Police have not provided a description of the burglar or the items that were stolen.
