‘Back(pack) to School’ event will fill over 1,000 backpacks for Nebraska students

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Spreetail is hosting an event this Tuesday aimed at donating over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies.

The Salvation Army says many parents often have to choose between being able to pay bills and making sure their students are prepared for the school year.

Spreetail will spend Tuesday assembling everything in Lincoln, before doing the same in Omaha on Wednesday.

The backpacks will be distributed to local community nonprofits like the Malone Center, F Street Recreation Center, and Educare.  They’ll then be given to those in need.
