Gas prices peaking as hot weather hampers output at oil refineries
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – According to AAA, gas prices have hit their highest level this year.
The average cost for a gallon is currently $3.84.
In Nebraska the average has risen to $3.74 a gallon, and it’s nearly $3.78 a gallon in Lancaster County.
However, this is still well below the average prices at this time last year.
AAA says hot weather has hampered output at oil refineries, which aren’t built to operate in temperatures above 95 degrees.
