LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three men were accused Friday in the slaying of a fellow inmate at the Sarpy County Correctional Center.

On Thursday, corrections officers found 43-year-old Huan Pham – who was in custody on a DUI warrant – unresponsive in his cell.

Officers tried to save his life, but he was pronounced dead less than an hour later, county officials said in a press release.

After an investigation, 21-year-old Dreshawn Stewart – who was in jail on an assault charge – was charged with second-degree murder.

Two other inmates, 21-year-old Diego Vasquez and 31-year-old Derek Kern, were also charged with tampering with physical evidence and accessory to a felony.

County officials said an investigation is ongoing.
