Husker linebacker Luke Reimer named to Lombardi Award watch list

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska football’s Luke Reimer has earned a spot on the Lombardi Award watch list.
The award, named after legendary coach Vince Lombardi, recognizes linemen for their leadership, courage, desire and discipline.
Reimer, a senior linebacker, was one of 80 players named to the list on Tuesday.
The Kansas native is entering the 2023 season with 245 tackles, the 15th most in the program’s history.
He only needs 39 more to move into the top five on Nebraska’s career tackles list.
Reimer – a former walk-on – has played in 38 games, starting in 27, for the Huskers.
Huskers Brian Buschini, Ben Scott and Jeff Sims have also been named to preseason watch lists.
