Impersonators hope to break record for National Elvis Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Elvis enthusiasts traveled to Augusta, Maine this week in hopes of breaking a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of Elvis impersonators.

But it will be some time before we find out if they achieved their goal.

Attendees were also celebrating National Elvis Week and wanted to pay tribute to Elvis’ only performance in Maine.

It took place in 1977 at the Augusta Civic Center.
