Stebbing fined more than $2,500 for selling vehicles without proper licensing

Lancaster County Treasurer Andy Stebbing was in court Wednesday for sentencing.
Stebbing was facing five felony charges and up to three years in prison for selling vehicles without the proper licensing.
Prosecutors say Stebbing sold 12 vehicles in a year span, but Nebraska law states only eight can be sold in a year without a dealer’s license.
“I blame nobody other than myself,” Stebbing said.
Otoe County judge Julie Smith handed down a number of fines to Stebbing, totaling $2,500.
Stebbing was also ordered to pay $137 in court fees.
Afterward Stebbing told Channel 8 Eyewitness News how excited he is to have the trial behind him.
He added he is still open to the idea of running for a public seat in the future.
