Teen arrested in string of rural Nebraska thefts

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen was arrested Thursday in a string of thefts in two western Nebraska counties.
On Wednesday, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of thefts from vehicles in Sutherland.
During the investigation, deputies identified 18-year-old Ty Dowling as a suspect and started searching for him, the sheriff’s office said.
Dowling was also involved in thefts in Paxton, which is in Keith County, authorities said.
Just after midnight Thursday, deputies found Dowling at a home in Sutherland and took him into custody.
Inside the house, deputies discovered several stolen items. Dowling was arrested on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking.
An investigation is ongoing.
