UPDATE: Saturday morning fatal crash victim identified
One person has died after a single vehicle accident that was reported near 27th and Fair Street early Saturday morning at 3:42 a.m.
The vehicle was heading southbound on 27th street when the car hit a median and collided with a street sign, then hit a tree on the east side of the road.
The driver, 22-year-old Deja Webster, was taken to the hospital and is currently in serious but stable condition. The passenger in the car, 20-year-old Jasmyne Chalk, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
27th Street was closed down from Theresa Street to Fair Street to investigate the situation.
