Fatal accident near Wahoo on Friday night
According to the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office:
On Friday, June 14th, 2019 at approximately 8:46 p.m. the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office and the Wahoo Police Department responded to the scene of a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Highway 92 and County Road 25.
Witness information, as well as the preliminary investigation, indicates a pickup truck driven by John Berggren, of rural Weston, was coming off of County Road 25 was struck broadside by a semi-tractor trailer driven by Robert Reardon, of rural Genoa, that was Eastbound on Highway 92. Life-saving efforts were attempted, however, the driver of the pickup, John Berggren was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the pickup.
The driver and the passenger in the semi were transported to Saunders Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
