Lincoln Lutheran defeats Lincoln Christian to take back Spirit Sword
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors defeated the Lincoln Christian Crusaders 7-0 on Friday night, securing the Spirit Sword trophy.
The game was scoreless through halftime, with both teams locking down defensively to thwart any offensive momentum.
Midway through the third quarter, Warriors quarterback Braxton Glines tossed the ball to running back Ryan Bokelmann, who heaved the ball downfield into the arms of wide receiver Trenton Ernst.
That was a 40-yard touchdown to give Lutheran the lead.
And the game would remain 7-0 the rest of the way.
This is the Warriors’ 10th Spirit Sword win in the game’s 20-year history.
Lincoln Lutheran will head to Wahoo Bishop Neumann next Friday.
Lincoln Christian will look for its first win next week at home against Platteview.
