LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska offensive lineman Ethan Piper was a freshman when the Huskers traveled to Boulder, Colorado, in 2019.

During a press conference Tuesday, the Norfolk native remembered the sea of red that traveled to support the team.

“It just reaffirmed that we have the greatest fans in the nation,” he said.

Piper also recalled the crowd of Colorado fans, jarred by years of losses against the longtime rival to the east.

“They don’t like us too much,” he said.

Piper didn’t play in the 34-31 overtime loss to the Buffaloes, but he said he’s excited to get another chance to play in Boulder.

He also hopes that the Husker faithful will pack the stands of Folsom Field as they did in 2019.

“It’s going to be a good atmosphere,” he said.
