Cooler with storm chances on Sunday

A wave of storms will make their way through the panhandle overnight Saturday into Sunday morning. The storm activity will move east bringing storm chances with it starting in early afternoon and continuing off-and-on into the evening.

Temperatures are slightly below our average highs for September. Many 70s expected with few 60s and 80s.

Various models are showing a chance for storms across the state. By Sunday afternoon SE Nebraska could see some storms with more chances in the evening hours.

Stormcast shows more rainfall west and central with lighter amounts east. Depending on how long the scattered showers linger over eastern Nebraska, locally we could see more or less rainfall.

Even with all the rain chances this weekend, eastern Nebraska is still slightly below average in terms of precipitation for this time of year. Smaller rain chances arrive towards the end of the week.
