Warming up on Monday; Many precipitation chances this week
Following a cooler Sunday, temperatures are expected to warm up heading into the new work week. Throughout the week there are chances for showers and possible storms, but there will be plenty of dry time in between.
When heading outside to work or school early Monday morning, a light jacket might be needed with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. By the afternoon you will not need a jacket with many highs forecast to reach the upper 80s.
It will be seasonally warmer starting Monday. Many temperatures will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s. Another warm few days ahead!
Some parts of Nebraska will be above normal in terms of our temperatures in the next few days. Lincoln’s normal high for mid September is 80 degrees. The mid to upper 80s will stick around for a little longer, before we see our typical fall-like temperatures.
Throughout Monday there will be a lot of chances to see some sunshine, possible storm activity arrives later in the evening. We could be waking up to a few rumbles of thunder Tuesday morning.
Not only will our temperatures be slightly above normal in the incoming days, but our probability for precipitation will be as well. There are a few chances to see showers and storms this week, although our best chance to see widespread precipitation is looking like later on in the week. The more likely chances for showers and storms looks like Friday heading into the following week.
