Nebraska native is featured on Sunday’s show of American Idol

American Idol is back for its 17th season, and it premiers Sunday night at 7. p.m.

One of the contestants is Nick Townsend from Tekamah, Nebraska.

He is one of the featured auditions for Sunday night’s premiere on ABC, and you might have recognized his audition on the voice a few years back.

Nick spoke about his experience growing up in the small town of Nebraska and what it’s like being on American Idol on Saturday with Channel 8 News.

“I mean growing up in Tekamah just like everyone knows everyone so they heard about it and they saw the show and my phone has been blowing up with so much love and their like ‘we can’t wait to hear you and see how it’s going,” Townsend said.
