LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A group of teens on Friday tried stealing a car in a north Lincoln, but a man foiled their attempt, police say.
Around 3 a.m., a 35-year-old man was on the porch at a home near 11th Street and Butler Avenue.
Police said he saw four teenagers trying to break into his wife’s Kia Forte that was parked in the street.
The man approached the teens and told them to get away from the vehicle, which had a broken window.
Police said the teens initially left but turned around and came back.
The teens got out of the car and started yelling at the man. One of the boys also tried hitting him with a hammer, according to police.
The group then left the area.
