Nebraska employers recognized with disability inclusion awards

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The state handed out awards Monday recognizing employers for creating inclusive work environments.

One award winner, Josh Beck, is a veteran and business owner in Lincoln.

He owns Countryside Gunsmithing.

“It’s an honor to receive this award,” Beck said. “To receive this, I guess, gives me the boost I needed to continue growing.”

The awards were given by the Nebraska Department of Education and Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation program.

Beck said Nebraska VR helped supply him with some of the things he needed to continue to run his business.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps armorer who served in five countries.

While in the line of duty, he shattered his knee.

Nebraska VR helped him get anti-fatigue mats and other technology to get back on his feet.

Since then, his business has seen continued success.
