Nebraska State Patrol identifies combine driver killed in crash with train near Firth
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol on Tuesday identified the combine driver who was killed in a train crash near Firth.
Benjamin Scholting, 65, of Louisville was pronounced dead Monday after the crash near 110th Street and East Apple Road.

The patrol said the combine was heading east on Apple Road when it was struck by a southbound coal train.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Firth Fire Department and Burlington Northern Santa Fe also responded to the scene.
