Warm on Monday; Best chance for showers on Tuesday

Early Monday morning there is a chance for lingering showers and storms, for some northeastern counties. A majority of the activity looks to stay in Iowa. Monday will be mainly dry, with small chances for showers in the evening. Temperatures will be above average, we cool down going into the weekend.

Monday’s high temperatures will warm into the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. It will be much warmer compared to our normal high of 63 degrees.

Lingering showers are possible into the early morning hours on Monday, mainly for northeastern Nebraska. Clouds and possible showers will arrive in the panhandle and central counties, by the afternoon. The eastern half of the state will be mostly sunny throughout the daytime hours. With small chances for showers again in the late evening.

Our next best chance for any widespread precipitation will be Tuesday afternoon into the evening hours.

Precipitation totals ranging from a tenth of an inch to over a quarter are possible by Tuesday evening. Depending on how long the showers and storms linger over an area, some totals may vary.

Although the precipitation looks to miss many on Monday, throughout the week there are more chances for showers and storms. Temperatures will be up and down heading into the weekend.
