Two weeks ago we told you the story about Tumbles the cat. She was thrown out of a car near Aurora on interstate-80. now after two weeks of applications, interviews, and social media posts from all around the country. Tumbles has a new home here in Lincoln.

On June 23rd, the Nebraska State Patrol found this kitten along interstate-80 after someone saw her being thrown out of a moving vehicle.

That kitten, named Tumbles, then found herself recovering at the Aurora adopt-a-pet. Pictures of Tumbles went viral throughout Nebraska. The adoption center had so many people wanting to bring her home, that they had to shut down the adoption application.

Now, Tumbles has a new home with the Popple family where she even has another cat to play with named Trip.

"Actually in Target when we got the phone call looking for some more cat toys for Trip," said Tumbles new owner Shelby Popple "and so we’re like well this is perfect because now we can pick up the stuff that we need for Tumbles we can go get and we’re all set to have her here."

Tumbles’s new family is now having to get use to having a little celebrity in their presence.

"There’s a lot of people who’ve heard this story because when we went into work and people heard about it they said ‘oh you’re the one’s who have Tumbles’ and everyone asks questions ask how she’s doing even the vet was really excited when we called them and scheduled the appointment they were like ‘oh we get to meet Tumbles’ because they had heard about it on the news so she’s definitely a little superstar," said Shelby Popple.

Just two weeks after being thrown from a moving car, and injuries to her head, the Popples say Tumbles is doing just fine.

"Tumbles is doing great when we picked her up on Sunday we were still putting just no Neosporin on her scab on her head," added Spencer Popple the new owner of Tumbles "the scab that was on her nose seems to be completely gone they were worried about her eye having some swelling but there’s nothing going on with her eye she seems to be doing fine balance is fine."

What started as a sad story, has now turned the page, with Tumbles enjoying her new home, new family and new friends, and a new chapter in her life.

"They even sleep right new to each other. Yesterday Tumble’s was sleeping on Trip like had her head laying on her and they are always playing together," said Shelby Popple.
