LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The owner of a Kimball motel was arrested Tuesday in a shooting that injured a guest, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

The Kimball Police Department responded to a shooting at the Finer Motel near North County Road and Lincoln Highway.

Officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, the patrol said.  The victim was staying at the motel.

He was taken to a Scottsbluff hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Kimball authorities then requested the help of the state patrol.

Troopers arrested the motel’s owner, 86-year-old Leota Kant, on suspicion of several charges, including attempted murder.

An investigation is ongoing.
