45,000 pounds of steel sheets dumped onto southeast Nebraska highway
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A southeast Nebraska highway was closed for several hours Thursday after a semitrailer lost its load.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said a semi pulling a flatbed trailer was heading south on Highway 75 near Union.
The driver approached an intersection and took “evasive actions” to avoid an eastbound vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
The trailer’s load shifted and broke the straps, dumping 45,000 pounds of steel sheets onto the highway.
Southbound Highway 75 was closed for over three hours, according to the sheriff’s office.
