Man found dead in north Omaha home, sparking homicide investigation

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Omaha Police Department is investigating the slaying of a 69-year-old man at a home near Fontenelle Park.

Around 3:50 a.m. Friday, officers were sent to a home near North 47th Avenue and Pratt Street.

Officers found James McDaniel dead inside of the home, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department’s homicide unit at 402-444-5656 or Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.

Police said anonymous tips leading to the arrest of a homicide suspect are eligible for a $25,000 reward.
