Two dead after crash on snowy I-80 near North Platte
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A crash on eastbound Interstate 80 resulted in two deaths Friday, the Nebraska State Patrol says.
Emergency responders were working to clear the scene of a crash just south of North Platte, officials said on social media at 4:19 p.m.
They added in a reply at 5:45 p.m. that the crash had claimed two lives.
Both eastbound lanes were closed from mile marker 177 to 179 for about four hours.
At about 8:45 p.m., the patrol said one eastbound lane was reopened.
The patrol said to follow detours and to slow down if you have to travel as snow continues to fall in the state.
