Suit Filed for Failure to Activate Amber Alert

The family of a murdered newspaper carrier from Gering filed a-million dollar claim against the cities of Gering and Scottsbluff. Anthony and Irene Guerrero say the cities and their local police departments were negligent when their daughter was kidnapped and killed. They say police never activated the Amber Alert System when Heather disappeared at the end of her morning paper route.

The cities and Scottsbluff county have six months to accept, deny or do nothing with the claims. If they deny or take no action.. The Guerreros can file a lawsuit.
