UPDATE: Woman suffers life-threatening injuries in downtown motorcycle accident

On Saturday, Lincoln Police responded to a call just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of 16th and K. LPD Capt. Robert Farber said a motorcycle was riding southbound on 16th street when it was struck by a motor vehicle driving eastbound on K street.

Two people riding the motorcycle were transported to the hospital.  The 26-year-old female passenger is listed in critical condition, according to the Sunday news release.  The 34-year-old male driver also suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car was uninjured. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a Dodge Charger was Eastbound on K Street approaching the intersection of S. 16th with  green traffic signal. A Harley Davidson motorcycle was Southbound on S. 16th and violated the red traffic signal colliding with the Charger according to LPD.  Both riders were wearing approved Department of Transportation helmet.  No citations have been issued.
