Hickman man killed when ejected in rollover crash south of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Hickman man was killed early Thursday morning in a rollover crash south of Lincoln.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 6 a.m. near Highway 77 and Saltillo Road, Lancaster County Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.

A vehicle was coming off Highway 2 when the driver — 33-year-old Dalton Vorhies — lost control on the icy road.

The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled, ejecting Vorhies.  He was not wearing a seat belt, according to Houchin.

Vorhies was pronounced dead at the scene.  Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Road conditions played a major part and, again, not wearing a seat belt,” Houchin said.
