Former Husker middle blocker Maggie Mendelson joins Big Ten rival

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Nebraska middle blocker Maggie Mendelson will continue her volleyball career at Penn State.

In an Instagram post Friday, Mendelson announced that she is transferring to play for the Nittany Lions.

She is joining Caroline Jurevicius, a freshman outside hitter who also transferred to Penn State this offseason.

Mendelson was a two-sport athlete at Nebraska, playing both volleyball and basketball.

She played in 13 games last season for Nebraska volleyball, finishing with 27 kills and 15 blocks.

On the basketball court, Mendelson averaged 2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game as a true freshman in the 2022-23 season.
