Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird said Wednesday COVID-19 testing is now available for anyone showing symptoms.

Due to a lack of testing, testing had previously been limited to healthcare workers, public safety personnel, residents and employees of nursing homes and people over 60 or those with underlying conditions.

Lincoln has now expanded its testing capacity, with up to 150 able to be performed each day.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Those who experience these symptoms are urged to access free drive-through testing offered by Bryan Health and CHI Health St. Elizabeth. Residents begin this process with a free online risk assessment available at BryanHealth.com and CHIHealth.com.

If you need help accessing care, contact the Health Department at 402-441-8006. Do not go to the emergency room unless it is essential.
