Lincoln Pride in June

Lincoln Pride hits 13 years this weekend.

The festival promotes and celebrates equality for the LGBTQIA community in Lincoln, and across the state of Nebraska.

“13 years later it’s our 13th event and our attendance is off the charts, our vendor participation, community support, our sponsors. I never would have imagined 13 years ago this is where we’d be at, so I’m excited to see where we go,” Vice President of Star City Pride, Dan Huntley said.

The weekend event outside the Lincoln Journal Star building featured different activities such as dinners, drag kings and queens, and comedy shows.

Huntley says pride does not stop at 13 years, and the non profit Star City has a mission to share the love not only in Lincoln, but hopes to influence the communities around the city..

“Every pride fits into the community that hosts it and we try to be as inclusive and supportive of our community as possible. We want to create a safe space for people not just in Lincoln, but in the surrounding area,” Huntley said.

This annual two day event is not possible without the generous support of donors.
