In 2021, the Arizona native — and brother of 49ers QB Brock Purdy — transferred to Nebraska from Florida State.
He played in six games with two starts in 2022, throwing for 147 yards. He also rushed for 73 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Last season, Purdy once again played in six games, finishing the year with 382 passing yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He had 180 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Jeff Sims also entered the transfer portal in the offseason.
Nebraska’s quarterback room will now feature Kearney native Heinrich Haarberg and 2024 recruits Dylan Raiola and Danny Kaelin.
