Rienk Mast’s 3-point palooza pushes Nebraska past Ohio State

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska basketball overpowered Ohio State on Tuesday night, defeating the Buckeyes 83-69 at home.

Rienk Mast, the Huskers’ 6-foot-10 forward, dominated the court, making six of eight 3-pointers.

Overall, Nebraska shot 49% from the field and made 52% of its 3-point attempts.

The Buckeyes were held to 35% from 3-point range and committed nine turnovers.

Nebraska trailed by 9 points midway through the first half but went on two big scoring runs to take an 8-point lead into the locker room.

The Huskers built on that lead in the second half, when Mast and C.J. Wilcher each made three 3-pointers.

Mast led the team with 34 points, followed by Wilcher with 16 and Brice Williams with 14.

Mast also racked up 10 rebounds.

The Huskers travel to take on Maryland on Saturday. That game starts at 11 a.m. on the Big Ten Network.
