Couple more foggy starts, then sun especially Sunday

The end of the dreary days is in sight. But first, Friday begins with yet another Dense Fog Advisory in effect for counties shaded in gray below until noon. Visibility as low as a quarter mile is possible especially early Friday.

Fog Advisory 530a

Temperature-wise, we’ve started out a few degrees cooler so far. Temperatures in south Lincoln dipped below freezing and with some mist/fog, some untreated areas were developing ice for a slick start. Temperatures at the Lincoln airport have been hovering just above and at freezing for a while overnight, and we could drop a couple more degrees around 7 a.m. Friday.

This will be another morning to be especially cautious for slick spots. The fog hasn’t been as widespread, with very dense fog to our west (closer to Tri-Cities).

Am Bus Stop Forecast

By the afternoon, we should see clearing from the fog again with temperatures around the low to mid 30s. We could see fog redevelop again tonight into Saturday morning once more, but it’s expected to not be as widespread.

Pm Bus Stop

It’ll be mostly cloudy on Saturday for eastern Nebraska. Temperatures gradually warm to the upper 30s to start the weekend, then to the 40s on Sunday. That is the day we are expecting more sun finally!

Weekend Forecast

To end January and welcome February, temperatures will continue to climb well into next week. This warm up will feature temperatures above normal and a lot of melting.

Temperature Trend

It’ll be a dry period as well. Rain chances increase by the end of next week and into the next weekend.
