Woman killed when ejected in crash with semi in rural southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was killed Tuesday in a crash with a semi in rural southeast Nebraska.
The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. at Highway 75 and 723 Road, just south of Auburn.
A southbound Chevy Malibu, driven by a 15-year-old girl, crossed into the opposite lane of Highway 75 to avoid a vehicle turning onto 723 Road.
A semi then crashed into the passenger side of the Chevy, according to the sheriff’s office.
A backseat passenger, 41-year-old Amber Booth, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and another passenger were taken to Nemaha County Hospital. The driver was later flown to an Omaha hospital for further treatment.
An investigation is ongoing.
