Former Husker Sam Haiby headed to play hoops in Australia
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Nebraska women’s basketball player Sam Haiby has signed with an Australian professional team.
Haiby will play for the McDonald’s Mackay Meteorettes of the NBL1.
The former Husker made the announcement Thursday via her X account.

In her final season at Nebraska, she averaged 10.8 points, 5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals over 22 games with 19 starts.
The Minnesota native finished her career with a school-record 139 games played, while ranking No. 12 in Nebraska history with 1,618 points, No. 6 in assists with 477 and No. 16 in rebounds with 642.
