A lovely forecast for now until winter returns
Now that it’s Valentine’s Day and you need some new ways to tell those special ones you love them, why not pick a weather-related valentine to send? Here’s a few fun ideas we came up with to celebrate.
What a warm February it’s been so far, almost halfway through. This year, we’ve been warmer on average than any other year on record besides 1930. We still have a little more than two weeks left, but signals still look quite warm through the end of the month (other than a cold day this Friday).
Speaking of warm days, we’ve got a warm one for today in store as temperatures warm from the help of some southeast winds. It’ll be a breezy day today compared to recent days, with gusts around 25 mph.
Love is in the air for the forecast, too! Highs will be in the upper 50s and nearing 60° for the afternoon. Cloud cover will also be increasing throughout the day, but another warm one in store for us.
Getting down to brass tacks though, snow will continue to be in the conversation for the end of this week (late Thursday into Friday). It’ll be a light snow for most that starts up in northern Nebraska and dives southeast through the earliest morning hours of Friday.
This round will be quick-hitting, light round of snow that ends around the time the morning commute picks up. Lincoln will see closer to 1″ from this, while northern Nebraska could see up to a few inches.
Whatever we see, it won’t last long for most of the state as we warm right back up over the weekend with plenty of sun.
