Inmate who absconded in 2022 is arrested in Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha in 2022 was caught Thursday.
Officials said Devante Prusia was found in Omaha and booked into the Douglas County Correctional Center.
Prusia disappeared from his job on Nov. 19, 2022, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said.
He had removed his monitoring device.
Prusia began his sentence for burglary and theft by deception in 2016, officials said.
The Community Corrections Center-Omaha is the least restrictive type of facility in the state prison system.
Inmates are allowed to go to work, school or religious services unsupervised.
